As a functional pharmacist clinician coach and passionate advocate for women's health, I'm here to support you through the unique challenges we face as we age. With our longer life spans, many of us spend about a third of our lives "living in menopause," dealing with its various short- and long-term impacts on our health and well-being. I'm dedicated to helping you navigate this journey with understanding and care.

Achieving optimal health is about more than just avoiding illness; it's about feeling your best every day. While maintaining general health might mean you're not sick, optimizing your health is a proactive journey that can transform your life. By focusing on balanced nutrition, regular exercise, quality sleep, and effective stress management, you can unlock a new level of vitality and well-being. Personally, I've found that when I prioritize these aspects, I experience more energy, sharper focus, and a better mood. This approach not only helps in preventing chronic diseases but also enhances my ability to enjoy life to the fullest and tackle challenges with greater resilience. My functional and holistic approach is all about understanding and addressing the root causes of feeling less than your best or managing chronic conditions by viewing the body as an interconnected system. Each one of us is unique in how our bodies change. Personalized to you, this approach highlights the crucial role of lifestyle, nutrition, nutrient depletion, and environmental factors in promoting overall well-being and preventing dis-ease. Menopause is a significant and permanent stage in a woman's life, requiring attention and care. Menopause is not just a phase—it's a transformation that affects us for the rest of our lives - that's why I call it "living in menopause." Today, women spend about one-third of their lives in menopause. As we age, maintaining hormonal balance is a consideration, and it is equally important to consider how age-related changes impact other areas of health, such as metabolism, musculoskeletal and cardiovascular systems, bone health and brain function. By addressing these areas thoughtfully and methodically, we can take proactive steps to manage our health and well-being now and in the future.

My approach focuses on lifestyle medicine, emphasizing the importance of good nutrition, including supplementation with neutraceuticals if needed, stress management, and healthy physical activity. Understanding the Impact of Hormonal Changes

As women, we've been dealing with the monthly effects of changing hormones since our teens. But starting as early as our late 30s, mid-life hormonal changes can have lasting effects on our health and longevity. While most immediately our reproductive hormones (estrogen, progesterone, testosterone) come to mind, other hormones such as cortisol and insulin also have a profound impact on our feeling of well-being and health. Many of these changes affect us for the rest of our lives and can impact:

  • The balance of our gut microbiome

  • Our thyroid health

  • The stress on our adrenal glands

  • Our metabolism

  • The strength of our bones
